Traditional, Gluten-Free & Vegan Baked Goods
Local Sprouts Bakery offers traditional, gluten-free and vegan baked goods prepared according to the same Maine-grown, seasonal, made-from-scratch philosophy as our cafe menu. We are committed to using Maine-grown and Maine-produced ingredients, as well as fairtrade and organic whenever possible. All baked goods are made with certified organic flours.
Traditional Baked Goods
In our traditional recipes, we use cage-free Maine eggs from Bowden’s Egg Farm in Waldoboro, Cabot Creamery butter, and Oakhurst Dairy cream and buttermilk. Our popular Sea Salt Fudge Brownies are made with organic chocolate, organic fair trade cocoa powder, and Maine sea salt.
Vegan Baked Goods
We believe you’ll find that our vegan cinnamon rolls, and all of our vegan offerings, are so delicious you’d never guess the eggs and butter were missing. We use certified organic flax seed meal to replace the eggs in all of our vegan recipes, as well as non-GMO, non-hydrogenated Earth Balance buttery spread.
Though we work hard to ensure that your favorite treats are always available, the bakery selection changes frequently. Please note that we do not yet carry a daily inventory of pies or cakes in our cafe´. You are always welcome to inquire about special orders! We are most likely to be able to accommodate orders placed with at least 48 hours notice.

We use nuts, grains, soy, and dairy throughout our kitchen. We do prepare various nut-free, gluten-free, and many vegan recipes, making every reasonable attempt to prevent cross-contamination of ingredients. If you or your child are exceptionally sensitive to certain foods or ingredients, please talk with us to determine whether our kitchen can meet your needs.
